    Default New Surefire M3-CB Flashlight

Man this is one cool light, click here for the photo
It states in the manual that they recommend the V70 holster to carry bezel down but on there site it shows the V71, so I'm alittle confused.

Can someone shed some light,( ), on this,

    Thanks in advance.

    Nice Light!

I don't use the VB-xx holster. I utilize other means that for me are pratical and "effective" for my uses.

    Enjoy!

That's not a Crenellated bezel, though, that's the scalloped bezel.

The 3 different bezels can be seen here:

This is another good carrying option for the M3, both scalloped and CB:

FWIW I wouldn't use a V70 or V71 holster for any SF lights other than the nitrolons. My experience is that the springs inside leave scratches (or streaks really) on the anodizing - at least they did on my M3 and 6P. YMMV

Correct. The M3P (P for Police) comes standard with the SW02.

Any chance you could resize that picture. I run at a high resolution so its not too bad but for others who dont thats a real pain. Photoshop is your friend.

Well there are a few made and they were sold so it stands to reason that another Flashaholic would be able to get his grubby mits on one if he wanted hard enough...

In that case you are welcome to resize it and edit your post to display a smaller version of the photo.

    bwaites,
Here's a few pics for you below... BTW, my Surefire collection is microscopic compared to Al's : http://www.pk-e.com/Size15/Al.html

    Al,
Cheers to "grubby mits" . FYI: I didn't have to try hard... just had to be lucky.

Quality over Quantity - most people have carefully considered how best to invest in flashlights. There is added value and respect for that.

    BlahBlah,

    great pictures!
I hope I recieve my SW2 and M3CB bezel in the next days, so I have a homebuild M3P , it looks great!

One question left: I've never seen a A2 with CB-Bezel, where did you get it, it's an origin SF-light or custom-made? A little nice combat-dwarf.

True, it can scratch the HA, but for tactical carry on a duty belt it is the best way to carry this light. If I didn't carry it for work I might consider a different carry option.

I love the SW02, but put it on my KL3/C2 body mule instead. The SW02 hinders the Rogers/Surefire grip method, which if you use it for police work is beneficial. Still my favorite tailcap though.

    schrenz,
The A2 is a limited production version. It's an A2-PP-RD, which means it's an A2 Porcupine with red LEDs. I believe they were/are only sold in the asian market. I think (Al may have better info on this) surefire sold porcupine versions of the A2, L2, L6, and U2 only. The L6 version I've pictured and I have for sale on CPF is the most aggressive looking of the porcupine series. It also put out a beam with a 'klingon' shape. I've heard the porcupines have better LEDs than the regular models, but I can not confirm this first hand.

    bwaites,
You busted me! This is something not listed in my sig yet. I have been disappointed w/ it on NIMH and I'm awaiting AW's Li-ion C-size batteries for feeding it. Here's a pic of the "secret", the L6 Porky, and the SNII.

Yes. There have been two versions of the L2-PP - the latest version has a stainless steel strike bezel like the L6-PP.

Yes. My understanding is that SureFire certainly picked the best LEDs it had for the Porcupine models. Hand selected for the limited run.

As i read this thread I realize I am in the midst of 2 kings of flashlights,..So i must ask about the M3 Turbo and M4. With the M4 on LOLA and the M3Turbo on HOLA is there enough difference in brightness to warrant a poor guy like me getting the M4? I really want both but...maybe one day
    Thanks!

I'm not actually a fan of the MN60 beam. I prefer the MN16 beam. It just appears more brilliant at least to start with. I find the MN61 better but then I started my interest in SureFires with the 12PM and it's N62 beam so to my mind runtime over 5 minutes is 'crazy longtime'...

I'd buy the M3T over the M4. If you want longer runtime go for the M6 - it may take a bit longer to save up for but it'll be worth it.

Very informative Al, thank you for the insight. I guess the M3 Turbo is more practical too.

I just completed a side by side comparison of the the MN16/9Z/KT2 and MN60/M4 using the lamps from 150 yards in with a building fog. I think Al said it best - the MN16 is just more crisp. I found the MN16 to be whiter with a more pronounced hotspot and throw to be essentially the same as the MN60. The one edge I would give to the MN60 is that is seemed to have a little more "grunt" punching through the fog.

I agree with you, the main advantage, because I prefer the M3T, is the combat-grip-body, it's more handily than the M4-body and it's more EDCble because it's shorter.

    @RemingtonBPD:
You can use it with the Rogers/Surefire grip method, removing the "rubber-crown", I did this with a Z48 clickie.

    @Al:
You did it again! Another turbohead picture that prevent me from sleep tonight!
