Rayovac Sportsman 4AA Headlamp

Has anyone tried the Rayovac Sportsman 4AA headlamp? I'm looking for a reasonably priced headlamp for trail running.

I've got a 2AA Princeton Tec headlamp that just doesn't seem to kick out enough light, so I was thinking about going to a 4AA model.

The Rayovac is only $9, has a larger lamp/reflector assembly, has 4 AA batteries and looks like it would kick out quite a bit of light. Size-wise, it doesn't look much bulkier than a 4AA Petzl Zoom. Like the Zoom, the Rayovac batteries are mounted on the back of the headstrap.

If anyone has tried the Rayovac Sportsman headlamp, what are your opinions? How does it compare to say the Petzl Zoom or other 4AA
headlamps if you've tried the others? Thanks for the info!

Nobody has used one of these Wal-mart specials before? They look like a decent light for the price. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

bought it at alco for about $8
made a nice 4 led conversion.
will get and convert another soon.
