Can anybody clue me in on the "Beam" differences between the various surefire LED flashlights ????? (Throw, Spill, Strength, Color, etc.). Considering a purchase down the road.

Thanx - Thehappyman

Search the threads for E2L, L1, L2, L4, etc they all have varying degrees of beams

Here's a lowdown on the surefire's I own in basic terms:

FLOOD: L4, L2, A2(low mode)
THROW: A2(high mode), E2L, E1L, G2
MEDIUM: E2e, E1e

check out the selection of SF's reviewed at flashlightreviews.com. You can get some definitive numbers on output and throw there, making it easy to compare lights.

Good luck, welcome to CPF

Josh

EDIT: sorry, didn't notice till later that you specified LED's. a basic rule of thumb I've personally noticed is that the 3watt LED's tend to have a higher color temp than the 5watters. My L4 and L2 are both a warm tint. My KL1 is quite bluish. Tint will vary from light to light, but this observation of mine seems to be pretty consistent.
