I was told this will be released around on Nov. 2006.

3V, 350mA, 26 Lumen, 15,000hours
LXCL-PWTS%28PWS1%29.jpg

PIC shows a prototype but has only 2,000 hours, yet.

Also told that this new package is aimed for Flashlight ...

Rigel :touche: PWT3

Rigel has a typical If of 150 mA and typical 3.5V, that means a power consumption of .525W. Light output is 20 lumens, so efficacy is 38 lm/W.

This PWT3 has a power consumption of 1W. Light output is 26 lumens, so efficacy is 26 lm/W.

So the Rigel is 46% more efficient.

Can anyone tell me what the improvement of this Luxeon LED is?

It looks like the "flash LED" glued onto a star base :)

I will be happy to do a test run of these little guys. Please PM for the address. I will look at the actual *USE* of these new LEDs, instead of just the numbers.
