As the previous post, this possible product is motivated by the new cheaper CR123 batteries. It is basically a U-15 but intended to be used with 3x Cr123 ( 2x 17500 if you have them). The advantage is that it is shorter than 155 mm (6,10 inches).
4 x LSIII , and according to our test can give more than one hour to 70% initial output.
It is by far the brightest and smallest tactical and dive rated flashlight on earth!

I have prepared a prototype.

Can we include these on the next group buy? If so, I'll take 2, along w/ a few other lights of yours.

Any chance it could use 18500s? That should allow equal run-time, outside of the tail, at any rate.

One last comment and nudge to produce these:

The shorter size as compared to the U-15 would make this an even better diving product. The R-15 is just about the same length as the UK SL4 which is just about as big as a light can be while fitting into the majority of BC pockets.

What are the LED's driven at? If they where underdriven at 500ma each that means the CR123's would see a 2 amp load ?

They are driven at 900 mA, but in two series, so batteries have a 1,8 Amps load.
