I have a nice 2GB SD card and it looks like I somehow broke off the tiny slider that protects the card from getting accidentally erased.

It's stuck in protect mode so I can't use it in my camera since it wont allow me to write to it.

What do you guys recommend to fix it? Can I stick a toothpick in there and unprotect it so I can use it again?

Thanks for reading :)

I can't see anything but I was going to get a toothpick and just giggle it around to see if it works.

I've yet to take one apart but if your toothpick method doesn't work, your only option may be to do surgery on it. Try this! Carefully remove the red area with an exacto to expose the small switch/button that toggles the Protect mode. I'm sure you can score the plastic deep enough to easily snap it off.
