eBay is supposedly going to be enforceing this rules but it hasn't happened so far. This stupid $0.99 + $50 S&H thing is getting out of hand.

They sent a message to folks yesterday that said they were stepping up enforcement of that...if you report those auctions, there's a decent chance they'll close them.

A good way to find out is to go to the "community", then "discussion boards" under "packaging and shipping" and see how many people are %&$#ing about having their auctions shut down...hehe

and give it a few days. I'm fairly certain that these items will end w/o any intervention.

Reported. :D

And yes, it's so they have to pay fewer fees to ebay and also when people do a search for the cheapest price, their items show up at the top because the search doesn't factor in shipping.

(It's irritating to me too...glad to see they're at least acknowledgeing they have a problem...)

This is exactly what ticks me off. They want to make money with high shipping ok.. they want to make it 10x more difficult for me to find a good deal, not ok.

a least ebay now show the shipping charge and any insurance together on the same line as the item price.

it was fun playing find the hidden shipping or insurance price.:lolsign:

 :twothumbs  :hahaha: Serves them right. Rules and guidelines exist, in theory anyway, to preserve order and ensure fairness, not to give the unscrupulous an unfair advantage. I know they (ebay) have a lot on their plates, but they make an unfathomable amount of money, and should do a better job policing the listings.

This has been common place on eBay for well over a year that I know of and probably long before that as well. eBay does not appear to do anything about it since it persists on a regular basis on all product categories.

One thing that I have noticed though is that almost everyone that I've seen with the product price built into the shipping price appears to come from sellers that is in Southeast Asia (primarily China, Hong Kong, or Taiwan), or us Hong Kong/Taiwan based using a U.S. PO Box front in someplace like Nevada, or is from a seller who gives their location as one of the southern California cities that is primarily populated by people of Asian heritage and with text that appears to have been written by a person of Chinese heritage for whom English is a secondary language.

As mentioned, the greatest danger here to the buyer is that the low purchase price makes it all but impossible to act whould you receive defective merchandise, as the seller is only obligated to refund the purchase price.

simple, ebay should make the seller refund the whole selling price including post and packing and insurance.

if their item is found to be faulty, or misrepresented.

regards.

Hah, well my eBay account was suspended "indefinitely" for supposed trademark infringement. I sold a used Movado watch... is it illegal for me to mention "Movado" when that's what I'm selling?! Oh well, I won't be going back. There's nothing there I can't find elsewhere with fewer potential headaches.

Well... nothing except "butt plug soap on a rope," but that's not my bag baby. (No, really...)
