Looking for something small. Preferrably 2x123 or smaller that is a VERY good UV light. Basically like a forensic light.

any ideas. Price doesn't matter. It has to be a usable light not a "toy" type light that claims to be UV and ends up in the "bs" spectrum.

Thanks.

Cue003;

There are a few on the market.

Xenopus has some nice designs.

I've built a lot of 1.3 Watt Cree UV "pocket lights using 2400 mah lithium rechargable batteries with a AC charger:

It is a 390 nm light design.

The Nightcutter UV light is pretty good with a nominal 370nm wavelength. It runs on 2x123 and is about 4.5" long. Everything lights up with it except the US $100 bill which requires 365nm wavelength or lower.

Xenopus has a 365nm 6-LED minimag with Kroll tailcap for $110 in the Forensics section. That probably the best light out there for that money in that wavelength.

Jeff, thanks for the info. I just wish the 365nm version was NOT in a minimag.

PSM, that is a killer solution and I may very well go that route.
