I have a beautiful Surefire L6, and it will not run with two 17500, or Pila 300S LiIon's. The batteries stick up too far and the negative spring of the KL6 does not make contact with the body. It works fine with three CR123's, and when I use an A19 extender, it works fine with two 17650's which lay flush in the body with the negative contact for the neg. spring. Anybody else have this problem?
I have a shorter than usual M3 body?

I had the same problem.
I used a spacer between the head and the body.
and i used the z58 clicky tailcap.
Maybe the clicky alone helps too,
but i sold my L6 so i can' t check that for you.

Well, my L6 won't work with the 17500's and Pila's using the issued clicky, and a lockout tailcap, so I tried an older SF non lockout tailcap, and voila, it works. Now to find one of these in natural HA III.

strange... my L6 works great with 17500s, click and LOTC

took off clicky in favor of LOTC. much safer, no accidental click on. with three lithiums cells, if light got stuck on. it will get real HOT..

not really... :D stack height for 3x CR123 and 2x 17500 is fairly close.

tailcap spring and KL6 spring more than takes up gap... on my L6 anyways....

Wait... so what's going on here? How come some can't fit them while others can? I just got my 17500's from AW and my L6 comes in on Tuesday.

You may have to use a spring when using flat top 17500s/ Pilas. My button top protected 17500s should fit/work without problems. They work perfectly in my L6 Porcuppine

Cy's 17500 doesn't look like they're protected. Otherwise they will be longer than 3x123's (at least the Pila's are)

cy, are those protected or bare cells?

My 17500's are protected and they sit higher than the 3 stack of CR123's, so outer spring of KL6 head can not reach its shelf on body. Maybe I need AW's unprotected 17500's. I need to have someone bore out my M3 body so I can stick in those 18500's for about 50% gain in runtime.

Bill

Pila 300S's are way too long.

AW, stack your protected 17500's with buttons next to a 3 stack of CR123's and see what the difference is.

See the perfect size match of my protected 17500s vs CR123s. They'll fit all SF 3 cell lights without any modification. No need for a spring or anything.

I did the same comparison with the exact same cells as AW, they seem to be exactly the same length.

AW- why must you tease us with the porcupine in the background? Have you no mercy?
