Today I had a peruse around Anchor Supplies at Ripley, its an Aladdins cave full of ex military goodies...evrything from tanks to torches! There are all manner of devices which may take a torchaholics fancy, but I came across some very unusual items including some gigantic spotlamp- like lights, 12 or 13 inches in diameter, finished in yellow casing with a lens similar to a car headlight in design. I don't know what they were intended for, they look too bulky for vehicular use and too unstreamlined to attach to an aeroplane.
It looks like the bulbholder fitted to these lamps might be an ES mains bulb style fitting.
I'm thinking about a suitsble mod for such a light.
Maybe add a lorry battery and large powerful bulb powered off the lorry battery and we could have created the world's largest ever rechargeable torch!
Or turn it into a garden spotlight!
I'd welcome your ideas.
I haven't actually taken the plunge and bought one yet... its too big to fit even the largest of knapsacks and it would look even sillier bungeeed to the pillion seat of my motorbike!
