Is it possible to run the Pelican M3 on two LION batteries? If so what type is recommended?

Don't know for sure, I'd suspect that you might be able to get it running on two batteries; don't know how well it would run though. I run mine on 3 of the Tenergy 3.0 V RCR123 batteries and it runs great. It's a bit of a pain to recharge since their charger only has two slots, so I charge two sets (3 pairs) at a time. The RCR123 batteries are remarkable in their ability to retain a charge, so you really don't have to be too concerned about self-discharge for the spare set.
