AA huntlight AA ultrafire low battery?

sounds too good to be true a 1 watt AA light for about $20.
both my huntlight AND ultrafire have some cheap assed switch etc
so NEITHER WORKS AT ALL
screwed out of $80 because I bought 2 of each!

Have you tried putting batteries in the torches ??

Seriously though UF's sometimes have a grounding problem, do a CPF search for some answers.

Then apologize !!

Didn't someone else have a similar problem after doing the tube fix and in the end, it turned out it was just weak batteries?

I haven't had much interest in UltraFires, but I really like the look of the Huntlight 1AA. I've been holding off, though, to see how people like them.

I may continue to hold off.

I've got three Ultrafires and think they're good. I have a 1AA, a 1AAA and a 2xCR123A 3w and like them a lot. The 1AA works fine, despite some abuse, and it has taken a 2-stage mod with one of Milky's switches very well, I am really pleased with it!

Hopefully you learned not to buy bulk when you dont know how a light might turn out.... , something tells me this is a QC issue

I have a Fenix L1P that had a switch that was not working properly. Turns out that it just needed to be tightened up. Now it works great.

Are the switches on the Huntlight AA and Ultrafire AA like the Fenix switch?

The huntlight is easier to hold than the ultrafire. they are both nice when they work. I do not feel I owe an apology for my remarks however. If I offended anyone I aplolgize .They are like the Fenix with the end cap clickie switch.

so I swapped a rechargable anyway it still works. this leads me to believe or guess that a partial drop in power can cause the light to fail

I still don't understand the "fix" do I make the solder blobs a little bigger? I tried foil to no avail.

Did you try to make contact between the battery and the battery tube, with the tailcap removed?
If the lights fire up, here is the solution:

Remove the retaining ring that is holding the switch pcb.
Pull out the switch pcb and apply five solder blobs to the negative contacts.

Reassemble and try.

Worked fine for me on three Ultrafire lights.
