Guys,
Looking for your thoughts on what would be the BEST flashlight for trailing wounded deer at night.
Thanks for your help!!

Welcome to CPF!

I've read blue LED's make blood stand out, and red LED's don't disturb game. A SureFire Kroma would fit the bill, it has all those color LED's, plus a white Luxeon LED (bright!).

CY's mentioned using his SF L1 for hunting (don't remember what color).

I think that the Surefire L2 would be very good with a blue filter and on low. The low beams is plenty bright for trailing at night and has plenty of run time!

Blue LEDs are worthless unless you like tracking black spots on blue vegetation, they don't have enough of the red spectrum to illumine blood. I still prefer a good incandescent with a quality blue filter, SF makes some of the best.
