My understanding is you have to be married to get one. Or at least have a girlfriend that likes you a lot. I`m not married, and my GF doesn`t like me that much. I got in line behind Al (size15) to find a rich wife...so maybe I`ll end up with a AA Surefire light. Just seems like a lot of hassell to get a light.

PK certainly showed great desire to bring the so-called "PocketRocket" to release.
The output could be adjusted by rotating the bezel from 0-100% without distinct 'levels' and was always being regulated.

What does being married have to do with buying lights again?

You don't have to be married (!)
This Titanium SureFire is likely to be rather expensive and not something you give to just anybody...

LOL...in another thread Al was explaining that, to his understanding, Surefire was making/marketing this light (if they do make it) as a piece of jewlery. It was not intended to compete with other AA lights. But to be a nice jewlery type gift for a man to give his wife or the other way around (hense the joking comment that one needs to be married to get this light). It would have a titanium body and be pretty colored. Perhaps not the light tool we are used to from Surefire. It would likely be rather expensive even by Surefire standards.

Never the less many, including myself, feel making this little AA light would be a great thing for Surefire and sell very well (maybe without the fancy body and colors...and not marketed as jewlery...at a more normal Surefire price).

Others feel Surefire should/will stay away from AA batt lights completley. In the end it`s Surefires call...we`ll see what happens.

Ken, I am not aware of any plans to colour the Titanium although I guess you may be able to heat treat it. I understand that one of the beauties of Titanium is that you don't need to anodise it.

Al, the demo model you saw, did the brightness change smoothly, or did it seem to move in stages?

Also I have to admit I can`t remember what natural titanium looks like...is it sort of silvery/gray?

I still think an economy verson using TiN aluminum to give it a "bling bling" look would have been nice :naughty:. The unlimited brightness level thing kinda reminds me of the gatlight, and the fact that it's probably gonna be all ti makes it sound like a mclux pd aa.

The proto-type show at SS2006 were CR2 powered so it would be classified as a "CR2" light.
