Maglite colors

I did some searching through this forum and couldn't find an answer for this question.

When did maglite start producing flashlights in the colors? Specifically, when did they start making the 2C in purple?

If anyone can even narrow this to a timeframe I would appreciate it.

Any idea how long it would take under what conditions to remove the anodized coloring from the flashlight?

Forgive me if I'm a little cryptic here, but I'll post the whole story after I find out a few more details.

It depends on what you use to remove the anodizing. It can vary between 2-4 minutes to overnight. See this thread for more info:
