Hello everyone, I dont post here as often as I should but anyway...

I bought a Nite-Ize White LED drop-in for my mini Maglite, and Im happy with it. Today I see my local gear suplier (LeBaron Outdoor products) has the differant colour drop-ins [Red, Green, Blue] I'm wondering if these are worth buying? Are they any brighter?

I also saw the "IQ" tailcap switch, is this any good?

Thanks in Advance.

To my knowledge, the colored Nite-Ize drop-ins have not been readily available (ie, at Walmart or Target), so there is little known information about them. I suspect the human eye will perceive the green drop-in as brighter, but you lose the better color rendition you get from white LEDs.

Also, I have heard that the Nite-Ize IQ switches are not as great as people thought they might be, so you probably want to pass on those.

The output when using the IQ switch is a lot less on a normal incan minimag. But with the white led drop in, I hardly notice any difference.

But I use my IQ switch and led drop in with a RCR2 in a cut down & bored miniminimag which also has a red filter which blocks about 50% output.
