Looking for a 4 cell PR based LED drop-in 1-3watt

Can anybody recommend one?

You could try an EverLED or the Nite-Ize. The official Mag-LED module might work, too.

I could never justfy the price of a 1 watt everled. Especially when Mag has a 3 watt for alot less. Fitting with them is another matter altogether though.

I'm gonna go ahead and skip that project as a host I picked up last night for a PR-SMJLED has me really, really pleased at the moment.

Warning
Most PR drop ins are designed for Mags with focussing reflectors and do not focus properly in fixed focus lights.

Suggest an SMJLED PR in the 2 AA or 2D Tuff Light. I prefer the Dorcy Gelbrite. Only 1/2 watt but focus properly. The Sandwich Shoppe version is more yellow, the Lighthound version more blue.

At 5" long the Tuff Nichia is probably 3AAA in a carrier. Maybe 4AAA. Remember this is still a 5mm.

Try a SMJLED in this and watch it become a throw monster with plenty of spill.
