Hello.

I have a Blaster V that got a Luxeon V with bincode WV5W (propably from around 2003)...

What does this bincode really mean, i understand that it is a old format of binning, and that it tells me that it is white and have a bluish tint (right?)

But what flux bin and forvard voltage is it ?

can somebody explain that to me ?

How close to the Vf are you getting? What about mA? It was my understanding that quite often in DD, the current isn't pushed through correctly...I usually don't mind because my DD stuff is small anyway, but still.

i am using it with a PVC sleeve and 6 Alkaline C cells.
I can go take a measure of the current later today...

Was thinking about buying a LuxV WW0S, hope it got a low vf and use it with 5 11Ah NiMH D cells, but if i get a WW0S with too high vf it wouldnt even be as bright as what i use right now...

I could also just get a boost converter like the fatman and drive the led i got in it right now (the WV5W) from 5 NiMh 11Ah D Cells...

I really want it to be bright with a good runtime...

Made a current measure, nothing wrong there, 1.08A at the start, dropped to 1A in a few seconds due to the voltage sag.
