Best LED for Photon Freedom

So i guess the LED that comes with the Freedom is pretty outdated.

What LED would u recommend to replace it? Does the 55 000 mcd work fine in these?

If your Photon Freedom is the new "100% brighter" version then I'd say it is still a very good LED for the light.

The easiest way is to check the package it came in and see if it has a sticker on it that says "100% brighter" (that's an example of why it is sometimes useful to keep the package things come in).

You could compare it against another Photon Freedom microlight that does have the "100% brighter" LED (make sure they both have fresh coin cells, because brightness of a coin cell microlight varies a lot with how fresh the cells are). This is a good excuse to buy another Photon Freedom. MattK over at batteryjunction.com has them on sale for $9.95 (here).

I believe the 100% brighter version of the white Photon Freedom microlight started shipping in the middle of last year, so if you got yours before then it is almost certainly the older version.
