I saw in a thread a little while back, that a E2 may be in the works. And I was wondering how much brighter can the Regal led be? I went ahead and bought the E1, after swearing I wouldn`t. And I`m glad I did. Even with the ringy beam and the need to visit a dentist...it is a great light. Personally I would choose it over many others (AAA type)...if I could have only one AAA light I might even pick it over the L0P. In real life it seems to meet all the needs the L0P does, but with 3 times the run time.
