Search on the topic for more suggestions -- this has been done before but I can't remember all the locations and all the substitutes/recommendations.
Pure silicone grease at autoparts stores -- but read the packaging! You can find the same stuff in both the electrical and brake sections. However, I have seen the brake lube silicone grease for $2 more than the stuff in the electrics section for a really tiny tube and it was the same tube only in a different blister pack.
Dive shops sell pure silicone grease.
Radio Shack has a gel-lube (but it contains some petroleum ingredients).
Plumbing supply centers are another location.
And, yes, Lowes & Home Depot -- check the plumbing department. They also might have o-rings you can use as replacements.
Read the labels and check online for MSDS (material safety data sheets) that list all the ingredients for the different products. Some o-rings do not like petroleum products so be careful.
And, of course, you can go to lighthound.com for more Nyogel products.
