Our disposal, at only five years of age, has sprung a leak, and is covered with rust on the inside. So much for KitchenAid quality. Does anyone know of one they would particularly recommend? Thanks.

I think they all rust out eventually. The main differences from I could tell between the models and brands is the power of the motor. I've replaced about 3 of them and the motor only failed once - otherwise it was leaks...

but really, garbage disposals cost alot and take alot of electricity to run, I don't use one. I have no problem picking stuff out of the sink strainer. The rest can go to animals or compost or garbage truck..doesn't burden the septic tank that way too.. why do you need one?

(and I am seriously considering getting goats, for brush clearance next year!)
