Search NewWish laser. People have modded them with mixed results. Also the IR filtration is most likely limited or absent. I'd stick with a leadlight. The 105's are much easier to mod and are a much higher quality. The 110's are a bit harder to mod, but still much better than the newwish lasers. http://www.lasercommunity.com/shop.php (wicked laser's forum) is selling 110's for $40 shipped right now, a deal that is tough to beat.

That case style is unique to NewWish as far as I know. I don't own a newwish, so I can't say for sure, but I would guess that if IR filtering is present, the filtration is a coating on the lens, or a very thin filter. Might suffice for <5mW, but I'd test it or have someone test it for IR before and after you mod.
