As USUAL John...EXCELLENT and THANK YOU once more! Love that time lapse of the rock stacking!

Just as I was reading your narrative, thinking, "Gee where's the cave people?" (like in "The Descent") - then I run across the part with the group of women you ran into...great timing.

Looks fun. Thanks for sharing. I like your macro shots of the little critters. That spider looks pretty big. The shadow it cast is indeed very cool. Nice job.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I havent seen The Descent yet, but its a cave movie, so I will have to check it out ;)
The Cave was, eh ok, I was expecting more.
But they did do a good job on the set, and there was alot of underwater filming, very dangerous stuff.
I saw some of the making of it.

Yea, the spiders were pretty big,
some were about 3 to 3.5" across.
I woundt say im scared of spiders, but I did look around before I sat down!

John,

Many thanks for the trip report, I especially enjoyed the nature pic's! You must have found the Monarch caterpillar munching on some Milk Weed, CHOMP! CHOMP! voracious little fellows they are :)

Nice Pic's of the Tiger Swallowtails's, looks like they found something in the rocks they like and the pic of the Thistle Bloom is very nice also.

Sorry you ran into a bunch of girls, off in a cave, in the middle of no where, but something's must be endured…. :p

Hi Kelly,

Thanks for the comments,
wow, you really know your insects and plants :)

The butterflies were really cool.
There is a, ah, designated urinating spot, down by the swimming hole.
We went back the next day, and there were at least 8 to 10 of them there.
I think they were after the salts.
It was funny, when Ben went to, ah, use the spot...
they all started swarming around him.

heh, yea, we never really got a good look at those girls,
they were in full cave suits, and covered in mud. :p

John, thanks for that report. Very enjoyable reading as usual, and awesome pics as well. I wish I could go on trips like that, but with weekly dive trips, I better spend the rest of my spare time with wify. :green:
