2AA gold plated MiniM*gs are available here.
These genuine Mini M*gs are shortened for 1x14670 Li-ion, very fine grooved on body for best grip and finned head for better heat dissipation and nicer look also machinned for 20mm reflector. Completly stripped out, highly polished and Hard Anodized (Type III) in gray color.
Can be used with any drop in LED which powered by 3.7 volt or Strion bulb (if you have ceramic socket) for longer run time.

I hate to just say "if I could only afford it", so if these are still around when I start making money again, I'm getting one. It would make my most often used light even more fun to use.

At the time of this thread (first posts), there were ceramic sockets being made by Auroralite. They are just that, ceramic bi-pin sockets to replace the plastic one in the Mini-Mag. I'm not sure if anybody still makes them--I don't think so--but if you wanted to buy one, you could try posting a WTB add in the Marketplace asking for an "Auroralite Mini-Mag Hotwire Kit." It is possible that Fivemega made them, too, but I don't remember. I don't think he ever did, but then, he makes so much stuff, it's a possibility. It's also a possibility that he made something even better!

Highly tempting, but I have a question.

Does that mean material has indeed been removed from the inside of the main bezel (in order to accomodate any 20mm reflector)?
If that is true, does that mean any 20mm collimator optic will become too small to fit in?
Any pictures on the inside of the bezel opening?
