Nice setup,
I have done the same thing actually.
And another crazy thing i did was Driving my Tri-lux Aleph 3 with one of those tubes. Yikes.
Not for long though,battery go bye bye.

You know, I am not tempted by the CR2 bodies at all ever since the Vital Gear bodies came out, especially the 2nd generation ones. It houses the R123 and the whole setup is just 2mm longer than my U60. The small size of the CR2 body is kinda thrown off by the size of the tailcap(since small is what you were after). of course the Vital gear cannot take 2 stage tail caps, as an inherent drawback.

Any run time info on KL4 head w/CR2 and CR123 also is there a tube that is AA size and use a 14500 battery?

that's a great combo powernoodle. I am a big fan of the Flat-top tail cap, it looks pretty good.
