I love the Fenix L1T! Then I got a CR2 body, and the thing seems twice as bright, even better! But now the "low" mode looks as bright as the "high" mode, so I decided to try and fix it. Spent a few hours fiddling with the light, and finally ended up adding a 68 ohm resister, recessed the pushbutton to prevent accidental activation, and now have a high-low mode.
High mode is activated by twisting the tailcap to the end. When you unscrew the tailcap (this normally lockouts the pushbutton), it adds the 68 ohm resister to the circuit, and you get low mode. There's no lockout mode now, but with the pushbutton recessed, I've never had an accidental activation and I EDC this light on my keychain. Mod was relatively easy to do I think!
