Averaging about 10kms/L in the city, but can drop to 8kms/L if rushing to get somewhere

Engine is a Japanese 3SGE 2nd gen (by Yamaha for Toyota) Corolla conversion.

I think it is more usual to use litres per hundred kilometres, at least that's the way it's done in Australia and other metric countries.

Do you guys use the air conditioner?

I'm a very smooth driver (no hard starts or stops). I drive a 1.3 liter Honda City and I've never gotten higher than 8+km/liter for city driving. I've gotten around 16km/liter highway but that was totally without traffic going 80kmh. I drive with the ac on at all times due to our warm/hot weather.

we here in europe count in liters/100 km.

i get 6 to 8 liters per 100 km (it's an mercedes diesel) and i drive 70% autobahn (max. 180 km/h, average 160 km/h) and 20% town (stop and go, speed between 30 and 70 km/h). Most of the time AC is off.

Wow! Where do you live where you can average 160km/h on the autobahn? When I'm in Germany, I can usually average around 120-140 with momentary spurts up to 230-240, but can seldom find portions where I can cruise at 160.

hehe, i mostly drive arround 0800 in the morning and around 1830 in the evening. so the 3rd lane of the autobahn (its the A2) is mostly empty, so i can drive minimum 150, but i try to stay just under 180 km/h. so I'am mostly on the left (3rd lane of the autobahn). in Germany you are only allowed to pass a car on the left lane (mostly, not really everywhere).

Hmmm I didn't realzie L/100km is in wide use. It seems so backward. Imagine minutes/100km rather than "km/h"

? - what will you measure with minutes/100 km ?

if you want compare fuel consumption, measuring in litres per 100 kilometer is accurate i think.

my cars consumption is arround 6,5 litres diesel per 100 km.

Definatly standard here in Australia to measure your fuel economy by Liters per 100 km.

Its even required to be labelled on all new cars in the car lots.

Recently 16.5 km/L from my 1.8TDCi Ford Focus C-Max. That's with the AC on. It seems to drink a bit more when going faster than 160kmph (100mph) so I guess I could improve on 16.5 but where's the fun in that?
