I just got my E2 (not e2e) in black and it seems to have a lockout tail cap.
It has a dimple on the cap and when tightened all the way down it is on and when backed off half a turn to 180* the button will activate it. But when backed off another half turn to 360* from the on position the button will not activate the light even when pressing very hard. I am quite happy with it as I had wondered if it would be a problem with putting it in a sheath with a closed bottom.
