BBC News Story - Top prize for LED 'light' inventor

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but...

A Japanese scientist who invented environmentally friendly sources of light [LEDs] has been awarded this year's Millennium Technology Prize.

"The award recognised his inventions of blue, green and white light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and the blue laser diode."

if that is the guy who invented the LED, he should be give a lot of awards. neat story!

Thanks! I went ahead & edited the original post to state what he actually invented. (assuming BBC got it right, I don't independently know much about it)
