I tried the search but it didn't work. Here goes.

Does anyone use rechargeables with their P1? If so, what voltage do you use. 3.0, 3.6, 3.7. Also, are they protected cells. I'm trying to switch all of my lights to rechargeables, and I thought that with the flat regulation of the P1, it would be a perfect candidate for it. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, guys and gals.

The 3V RCR123A cells will be just about the same as primaries. The 3.7V cells will be much brighter and hotter, but unregulated. You'll get a shorter runtime with both.

3v RCRs require a special charger; you'll usually find the batteries and the charger bundled. E.G., Battery Junction.

Real-life capacity is still probably only around 800mAh for the best RCRs, compared to 1500mAh for primaries. So consider carrying a spare. Overall, I think it's worthwhile to use RCRs.
