Problem w/ new Surefire L4

Just got a brand new SF L4 and its giving me some trouble. The L4 as a whole is DOA, but the KL4 head works on any of my other Surefire E series compatible bodies. Also, my KL1 works fine on the L4 body. It seems that any combination of bodies and heads I make works fine except for the standard configuration of the L4 body with its own head.

With the L4 head on its own body, the head doesn't light and the batteries get warm very quickly indicating maybe it is shorting out. Why would it only do this with one bezel and not others ?

Anyone know where to look or have any advice ?

I just got one about 3 weeks back and it works great but rattles in the head. I'm scared to change it out becasue it is way brighter than even my U2...
