Surefire: which parts are interchangable?

Hello,
Excuse me for asking this stupid question, but I'm new to this.
It seems that bodies, tailcaps and heads are interchangable with several Surefire models.
Is there a listing (or other way to find out) of the different "families".

I have ordered a E1L / L2 / L4 : are some of these interchangable ??? (head of a E1L on a L4 or L2 body ??)

Hi Joris, and welcome to CPF!

Yes the E1/ L4 series have interchangable parts. Look into the custom lights offered by McGizmo too
and you will have a lot of options.

Hi Joris,
The L2 is part of the L1/L2/A2 family that share the same TailCap (Z62) but none of the other components (bodies or bezels) are interchangeable with anything else.

The E1L and L4 are part of the "E-Series" family.
The E1L is made from the KL1 bezel, "E1e" body and Z57 Clickie TailCap.
The L4 is made from the KL4 bezel, "E2e" body and Z57 Clickie TailCap.

If you replace the KL4 bezel on the L4 with the KL1 bezel then you build yourself an E2L.

You can put the KL4 bezel on the one-SF123A body but it is under-powered and much reduced runtime. Some people decide to power this combination with a rechargeable battery instead of a single SF123A.
