Got caught in a major storm with my new 3W MiniMag/AA LED tonight, this is pretty bright. Three watts...I don't know. Thank goodness I had the sense to but on layer of silicon grease the night before. I think the folks at MagLite may have really hit it on the head this time. I've since contacted their tech people concerning Lithiums and rechargable cells. They're saying that they'd work, but would shorten the life of the LED. Darn.

What were you greasing that would have improved your storm flashlighting experience?

The threads and o-rings of some lights need to be coated with a silicone grease to make them waterproof or at least water resistant and also to make the threads work smoother. There's a ton of threads on this topic on this forum.

A little silicone grease on the threads of Mags makes turning the light on and off much smoother and helps to keep some of the wet stuff outside stay outside of the light.
