The Pentagon L2 has a green tint to the beam.

Smoother beam than the Streamlight Task-Light 2L.

The Streamlight Task-Light 2L has the wider central hotspot but not by much.
The Task-Light has a slight blue tint the beam. The beam also has more artifacts which are hard to see.

I know the Streamlight 2L 3W can run on rechargeable batteries...From past experience I ran with RCR123 3.0v, 3.6v, and 17670 button top batteries. The Streamlight is very reliable with 2 stage of light levels with the high setting having a very bright center spot with decent sidespill. Streamlight also has a excellent warranty replacement.

Thank you very much for the answer and the pics!!

The Streamlight is good, but the Pentagonlight has a nice sidespill...

I just ordered the tasklight 2L. I wanted a light that I could use with gloves, and wanted good output and throw.
I hope that I like it.

Veleno - I have the TL-2 3W and have not had the same experience that Ernsanada has had. I find the tint on my light to be just slightly to the white side of vanilla. I don't notice any artifacts either. Guess I got lucky. Of my lights, the TL is still one of my favorites. I like the tint so much that I just had a SF L1 modified (Milkyspit) to the same tint. I can't speak to the Pentagon but it does look like a very nice light. Hope this helps. Kirk
