Add KT turbo head and MN60, MN61 bulb, 4 cr-123. You got the SF M4. :grin2:

I've done this, which happens to be right in front of me: 6P + A19 + A19 + P91 lamp + two Pila 168S batteries. Great light, lots of output, throwy and floody, and rechargeable. Gets the Powernoodle seal of approval.

peace

Do you have to double click to fire that P91?

I don't know if its my lamp or cells but I can't get the AW 17500's or the 17670's to light the P91 on a single click.

I have a 9P+A19+KT turbo head + MN16 running on 2xAW 17670s. No need to double click, very bright.

I figure if I'm going to carry something as long as a M4, it may as well have a turbo head on it since it doesn't exactly fit in my pocket anyway.

Re: a19=6p-9p a19+9p=12T

12T (tactical) seems to be fairly common nomenclature for a 4x123A narrow-head body. Variations of this name are used by G&P, Digilight, and others.

No need to double click for me, but something funny has happened twice with the setup. When the 17670s go in hot off the charger, and the light it turned on, it goes off after about 10 seconds. This happens twice in a row, then will stay on and behave normally until the cells are dry.
BTW, I'm using the new AW cells, with the nice silver/black with red band at positive end, wrapping.

I am using the same new AW 17670 cells and they wont fire the P91 or the MN16 on a single click cold. I've tried two different sets. The PILA 600S will however.

I don't know if this helps but here is a few data points for your reference.

(2) AW 17500 / MN-15 (125 lumens) = 60 - 62 minutes of runtime;
(2) AW 17500 / MN-16 (225 lumens) = 22 - 24 minutes of runtime;
(2) AW 17670 / MN-16 (225 lumens) = 40 - 42 minutes of runtime;
(2) PILA 600S / MN-16 (225 lumens) = 42 - 43 minutes of runtime.

I would expect the P90 (105 lum) to perform similarly to the MN-15 and the P91 (200 lum) to perform similarly to the MN-16 with each battery set. The 18650's will give you the best performance but they will not fit your 60/A19 tube without boring.

Forget the boring. Purchase a 2x18650 tube with C to C threads. Keep any eye out on CPF.

I have a Tranquillitybase tube with an M2 head, P91 and two protected AW 18650 batteries as a stand-alone dedicated 18650 light. It works identical to a 9P with A19 and P91 running on two protected AW 17670's but runtime is longer. However, what you give up is versatility. With the Surefire tubes, you can use CR123's if you rechargables die. Can't do that with the larger tube.
