For those with "tactical" switch type lights, how much do you unscrew your tailcap from constant on position? I find SF's work best with a little less than 1/2 rotation from constant on. For Inovas, it seems that they have less movement from pushing the tailcap, so I only back out 1/4 turn.

I only back my Inovas out about 1/8th, if that. Going any farther and it's hard to use the momentary mode. With my SureFires it depends on if it's going in my pocket or not. If it is, I go about 3/4 of a turn, but if it's just going on the nightstand, only about 1/2.

Hmm, you've got me thinking now, generally I do one of two things:

Find the approximate halfway between being locked out and constant on and keep it there,

Or normally I have mine locked out about an 1/8th or a 1/4 turn past the lock out point, and when I use them I give them a generous half turn and start using them.

I agree with Hawkeye re not backing the Inovas out too much.
