I managed to get hold of some 25k mcd 5mm Red leds and I upgraded my rear flasher on my bike:

Here is the new improved version on the right compared to non-upgraded version:

Wow. How hard was it to replace the leds? Where/how much did you get them?

The LEDs were easy to replace, just using a soldering iron and pull out the old LEDs then slide a new one in the holes (using the soldering iron to heat the solder up so the LED leads will slide through the holes), then re-solder each LED and cut off the excess leads and your are done.

I got the LED off of ebay @ http://stores.ebay.ca/HKJE-Led-Lamp-Center_W0QQssPageNameZstrkQ3amefsQ3amesstQQtZkm

I have smaller quantaties available for sale if you are interested. PM me if you would like some.

That looks like the same flasher I purchased at the local 99 cents store a few months ago. Yes, I also upgraded mine but I only had 11,000 mcd LEDs handy. I noticed that the original LEDs on mine were a deeper red (~660 nm) than the replacements (~630 nm).
