I realize that respective mechanical properties sometimes make one material a better choice than the other, but if light transmission alone is considered, just how much of a "penalty" occurs with Lexan as used in the Surefire Z32 bezel vs. the Pyrex in an M2 bezel? Thx.

Plexiglass (such as Lexan) will lose about 1% of the light every time it goes in or out of a surface. Thus a 2% loss each time it passes through a clear plexi sheet. Don't know about Pyrex.
