Hi,
I wanted to build a headtorch for caving as the premade ones are excessively overpriced (£60 for a single bulb 3W led running off AAs seems pricey to me).
I need the torch to be able to allow a good 'spot' at about 10M; have a continous brightness; and run off batteries mountable on a helmet.
I need the torch to be able to run for about 5 hours and the ability to either swop the cell or bolt on an extra cell for a long trip.
The budget is as much as is required. I would prefer not to spend more than £50 but if there is a serious design for a little more I won't complain.
I have basic electronics knowledge but have never worked with either LED's or more importantly batteries!
What recomendations can you experts provide?
Thanks
