No. He put glow in the dark paint or glow powder mixed with glue on the back of the leds.Illum_the_nation said:

nope...those are actually trits he placed at the back of the leds. you could also put GITD powder mixed with glue.

AFAIK the black is a limited edition. You normally get the HA-NAT version.

its odd that even in A2-HA [NAT] the body and bezel ring is gray but the head is a light OD green

I prefer using rechargeables, so I ebay'd off my black A2. Here is one of the pictures I took, when I sold it off. (Broke out the softbox out of the closet to take this picture)
