Put some tape on the lens. Use a small center punch and a shot filled fiberglass
hammer. A couple light taps and the lens will shatter. Use a small pick and pull
the lens out. Blow out the reflector and LED with compressed air. A few tiny
specks will remain but are not noticeable in the beam at all. Do not touch or
scrape the reflector. Use eye protection. When you hold the punch tap gently,
you don't want it to hit the reflector or the LED. I used an 8oz hammer and it
worked great. My lens was really stuck and all other methods failed. The light
was a U60GT.

That was stuck in there for while wasn't it? I seem to remember you posting about it several weeks ago.

An unusable HDS is a genuine tragedy IMO...glad you got it sorted.

:naughty: I bought a Beamshaper lens from AW. The lens worked as advertised but I should
have been more careful checking the fit. He sent me another one right away! The
light was working fine I just couldn't get the lens in far enough to put the Ti bezel
guard back on. By the way, the anodize is pretty good IMO.:aaa:

Same with mine. Maybe this week I'll get the chance to massage it and get it fitted.

Ive been missing the HDS as my carry. Have been using the KL-1, 1XAleph body with McE2S.

:awman: The O'ring must have welded itself so hard to the reflector & glass

sometimes you have just gotta do it.. :ohgeez:

pehaps it isn't a bad idea to rub a tiny bit of nylogel/silicone lube on the o'ring so it doesnt happen again..

got me thinking now.. ive not taken my glass out yet:thinking:
