Hi all,

This is my first attempt at a homemade mod so please bear with the ignorance...

I'm looking for a boost driver that will driver my K2 emitter at 4.47V and supply approx 1.5A

My source is a Surefire B90 NiCd battery pack, which after a few hours off the charger is measuring 3.98V

I've looked at the drivers listed in the Shoppe, but these don't seem to be able to supply the current required.

I've also looked at a couple of drivers off german sites found from Andrewwynn's thread, but the input voltages of 5.1V and 6V are too high for my app.

I don't need any fancy firmware just a plain driver.

If all else fails I was looking at building my own, based around a MAX1763. Anyone else used this IC?

I gave up the electronics 8 years ago to be a paramedic, so the drunkards walk (electron movement in free space) is about the most I've kept up with

Hope you guys can help...

Cheers,

Terry

I thought the B90 battery stick was 9V?

Cos if it is you could use 2 x downboy 750'd wired in parrallel for 1500Ma.

Whatever battery it is you actually have, if its giving 3.98v - you'll obviously need a boost converter.

Try the MaxFlex which can be configured for 1400Ma.
You can choose whether to make use of the 'fancy firmware' or not. :grin2:
