SF - KL3 conversion head question

I have seen several WWW sites where the title/header for the KL-3 shows "KL3 Premium LED (3-watt)" AND the write up on the KL-3 shows " conversion head consists of a bezel/lamp assembly fitted with a digital regulator, a one-watt LumaMax™ LED ".

I am confused - is the KL3 head 1 watt or 3 watt?

Watts is meaningless

Vf can vary more than 32%. So for a given current drive to the LED, your Watts can vary more than 32%

A more precise and correct answer is that the Lux III is driven so many mA.

Is there much of a difference between the KL3 and the output of the KL1 or the Surefire L1?
I have an L1 and that is why I ask.

i think it is around 500ma to the led?

cos it isn't bright enough for me
