maglite replacement led's?

I know its not advised, but I would like to use rechargables with these, http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/maglite_mag-led.htm

I want to put it in a 4xaa flashlight (eneloops). So thats about 4.8 volts. Where the mag leds are designed for either 4.5 or 6 volts.

Any ideas?

That would work electrically, but not physically. While the voltage is fine (you could get a 4-cell version, if you want), the PR2 base for MagLED modules is wider than the standard base. They don't fit in most other lights.

ehhhh,

I was thinking that these LED's used the same adapter in the mag as the incadecent light>>>?

They'll fit very nicely in a Mag, but not much else.

Tigerhawk is right that they will only fit in a very small number of lights and the only way to find out if they fit is to try it in the light or find someone else who has already tried the module in the light you want to use it in
