I just got the civilian version of the P90 submachine gun. You know, the one they use on Stargate with the 50 round magazine

The stock optical sight is hard to use if your outdoors in the shade or indoors under normal lighting conditions.

Some folks on the fiveseven forum are adding a light to the sight to help use the sight in these situations. You can check that out here:

I've stumbled upon some archery sight lights that look ideal for this. They are tiny and have adjustable brightness (a must), but they only come with blue or violet LED's (I want red). I contacted Truglo and PSE archery and they say red is not possible. Here is the Truglo light, the Tru-Lite Xtreme:

Can anyone suggest a similar light in red? How hard would it be to change the LED?

I tried a Photon Freedom light. Unfortunately, due to space considerations I'd probably have to use a fiber optic cable to get the light where it needs to go. Can anyone suggest a good site for learning about using fiber optics?

Here is the Photon on the rifle. The light can't go here because it will interfere with a sling mount:

Any other ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Stupid anti-gun scumbags and their anti-gun restrictions! That long *** barrel is hideous! They killed the P90!!

Can you switch back to the original barrel?

Hehe, I know what you mean. I've gotten used to the 16" barrel. It cuts down on blast and flash. It also adds about 200fps to the velocity and the 5.7x28 caliber can use all it can get. The rifle is still very handy. At least the assault weapons ban in the U.S. has sunset and we can get the 50 round magazines now. Be glad you don't live in England where you can't carry a 4" lockback pocket knife.

You can get a short barrel if you live in a state that allows it and do everything required to register it as a short barreled rifle. This includes a $200 fee dating back to the 1930's. CMMG makes a short barrel for the PS90 that you replace the stock barrel with.

Thanks for the bump. Now what about the light? Anyone know of a direct source for something like the Truglo Tru-Lite Xtreme so I can get it with a red bulb? I ordered one to see it will work for size and if I can work with the violet bulb or replace that with a red bulb.
