Was thumbing through a Natchez supply catalog this afternoon and saw this.

A remote controlled LED beacon light. Not sure what it would be good for, except what they advertise, but thought it was interesting. It could always be modded with a different color LED or a strobe. For $10, you wouldn't blow much for a toy.

Any good ideas for a use for this?

Replace the existing leds with IR ones and use it to spot deer at night without scaring them away.

Ah, unfortunately deer hunting at night is illegal here in TX. Sunrise to sunset, that's it. During the season of course.

When we are out night fishing or just get back late we normally leave a lantern on low to see the campsite on our way in and this would be great for that; except that 100 yd limit wouldn't help when your a mile away across the lake!!!!!!!!
O well, still a usefull item.

I don't have any money now, otherwise I'd purchase one for CPF sakes.

I did bookmark that web page though, as it is possible I might be able to purchase one in a week or two.
