Upgrading SF 6P with KL5 or G&P LED?

I am planning to upgrade an old SF 6P to LED, thinking about popping the SF KL5 head. It is quite expensive!
In my research, I came across 'lighthound', they carry G&P 5W & 3W drop-in upgrades to the 6P.
How good are these aftermarket LED assemblies? Comparing to the KL5, do they last? are they reliably brighter/equivalent?
They cost a fraction to KL5, does this offset the product's quality by much?
Anyone here uses them? Any posts are appreciated.

Hey rollee,

I used the BOG 5w which I believe is the same as the one lighthound is selling. I mounted it on a shotgun and used 2 protected R123's (both of which you are not supposed to do). With the R123's, the output is very bright compared to using primaries. I would only use it for momentary use, but suffice it to say, it didn't last too long with the shotgun recoil.

I have an old SF 6P with a G&P 3W and I am using a 17670 cell in it . It is very bright, and I like the tint. I don't know how long the 17670 will power it, this is not an EDC setup so it is not used everyday.

I like mine.
