I need some ideas on a new flash light.

My requirements are as follows:

- Something small, like a fenix P1
- Must be at least 50 lumens
- Around the £50.00 mark
- Lighting levels not important

Any ideas?

Are you trying to design and/or build a new flashlight, or just looking for something to buy?

If buying, what are your needs? Flood/spill, runtime, battery type preference, etc are important to know when offering possibilities.

wholeflaffer,

Im looking to buy new.

battery type: not bothered but 123's would probably be best.

a decent powerfull flood is what im looking for.
i want to maintain a solid area of light and not have spots circle edges etc.

The best way to describe it, lets say light up a whole front of a house.

Looking to get a couple of hours runtime i guess.

Hmmm...the P1 is more of a thrower than a flood. Otherwise, that sounds like what you might want!

Just curious, how much is the P1 across the pond?

how small is small?

is the C cell battery size small enough?

do not know of a flood light that is small, other then the 'cr2 ion'

but it is over your budget :)

it is around USD150=£78.95

Cant seem to find the P1 over here but have seen it for $44.95 in US?

Can you get cheaper than that?

Size wise, an inova X5 or X1 would be a good size thinking about it.

It may give me more options???

Not got one yet but I'm trying to think of a reason not to. ...........

....... I'm trying hard and there's still no reason........

There is a 3W Raw which takes two 123As. This would have better runtime. For the 1W its 20h. For the 3W I'd guess 6h. Email Orb and ask.

Cheers

What would you consider the surefire 6p to give?

i love the type of light that kicks off.

Something like that will be good but maybe a little slimmer and a nice leather case would be beneficial.

Do you mean the 3W Orb? I don't know of a Raw that takes 2x123As.

i like both the orb and the P1.

Can you use non-rechargables witht the orb raw aswell?

To give me some idea, how less/more brighter are they than the surefire 6P?

And what is the difference in beams?

thanks in advance.

Initially I was suggesting the Raw but if KK needs two hours runtime then the Raw is out.

The older Orb 3W I read about here seems to use 2*123A which should give a more satisfying runtime.

I'm going to butt out, as I know next to nothing.

Cheers.

I don't know about fenix in the UK, but fellow cpf'er 4seven who owns the fenix store has the P1 for $44.95 which includes international shipping, if that was a concern. Here is the link http://fenix-store.com/
