Does it go into direct drive or does it regulate it down nicely? I'm asking because I'm going to mount one of those newer K2s' in one and possible put it in a C3. I just would like to know how the BOG 3W behaves on 3 cells vs. 2 cells. THanks...

I am running one on 3 cr 123s, no problems. Seems a bit brighter by 10% if that helps.

It'll run on 9v, just not terribly efficiently.

Am I reading that right? LESS runtime on 9V than on 6V?

Well, remember that RCR123's are 750mAh or so, versus about 1300 for a primary cell.

The really interesting bit here is 1 168S vs. 2 168S - just about the same runtime, a bit brighter with 2, but I'd bet a lot more heat being generated.
